I prefer trimming less when we are in the early stage of an uptrend. There are definitely spots where I like to trim, especially when a stock becomes extended on the daily chart, but this is discretionary and I don't use a fixed indicator. Sometimes I use the 60-minute chart to judge whether a stock is extremely extended. For example, on MRVL, if you bought lower, an up day above 120 could be a good spot to sell some. Another spot is an unfilled gap. Tesla’s gap near 470, around the previous highs, could be resistance where I'd sell into strength. The most important thing is trusting the trend and not getting shaken out.
