I don't think you can completely overcome it. I still feel frustrated when I see my equity curve decline from its peak. It is important to realize that you are in drawdown much of the time in trading. Kristjan Kullamägi showed Nvidia, one of the biggest winners of recent decades, and it experienced drawdowns from 2002 to 2006, from 2007 to 2016, another two-year drawdown, and another two-year drawdown. Even over the past six months it has been in drawdown. A drawdown in profits is actually good because you have already made those profits and are not losing your original capital. You can't avoid drawdowns or remain at an all-time equity high forever. You can balance holding winners with selling into strength and weakness.
